So while also in Japan I managed to arrive just in time for the DMMD:Reconnect cafe that was set up in Animate in Ikebukuro.
Click more to see a whole lot of photos and more about what the cafe was like and the menu!
I arrived a bit too early to begin with so I spent some time browising around Animate the shop. Eventually they opened and had put on a drawn sign at the front. The cafe was on the 3rd floor of a building right next to Animate cafe but was really clearly signposted how to get there. As I went in I was given a menu and explained how ordering would work along with an english card of what behaviour is not good at the Animate Cafe.
I was sat down at the table with some of Clear's CGs. Each table had different CG images from the game.
I was sat down and then had a chance to look at the menu. I asked if I was allowed to take photos and then begun to look at the menu. There was a mixture of drinks and food and if you got drinks you would be given random character coasters and with the drinks I think you were given bookmarks.
Really cute designs on the menu! I wasn't too keen on the food on offer but there was a good selection and really cute designs. I just stuck with ordering some drinks. I ordered Noiz and Virus's drink as I felt Noiz's was probably going to be melon flavour and Virus's seemed to be a champagne cocktail. The cafe was quite busy after 10 minutes of it being a bit quiet. The staff were very friendly and I could see in the kitchen area the machines had special DMMD stickers for certain things. My drinks arrived pretty quickly and along with them I got too random coasters.
I got Noiz and Mink as my random coasters!
The drinks were super tasty! While I was drinking them two girls were sat next to me by the staff and I started talking to them. One could speak quite good english and had a keen interest in the UK as it is the setting of one of her favourite BL visual novels. She also had visited the UK a while back and was really friendly to talk about the area, good places to buy doujinshi and other visual novels. Her friend couldn't speak as good english but we tried translating what I said and she seemed pretty interested to talk too.
After a while of talking and eating the staff then called for our attention. They said they were going to give away some coasters that were from the original DMMD Animate Cafe event by all of us playing jan kan pon. I didn't win anything but it was fun playing rock paper scissors for the stuff. One of the girls I was with did win an Aoba coaster from the original event and was really excited about it.
After one of the drinks I decided to take a look at the merch on sale. I was a little late to getting to the cafe so a lot of the stuff had already been sold out like the cookies. Still there was a few things left.
I also took a look more around the cafe. There was lots of art work to look at and the cafe was fully decked out with DMMD stuff.
Also lots of opportunities for fans to leave messages! There was a couple of books people could sign and write messages in and also a black board type area for people to draw and leave messages on.
Can't wait to use this for college.
Bonus: Slightly derpy photo but with my homies.
